Irma F. Freeman, 82, of Spencer, passed away Friday, August 21, 2009 at Bloomington Hospital. She was born October 14, 1926 to Sam and Bertha (Adkins) Davis. Mrs. Freeman was a homemaker. She was a member of the Salem Separate Baptist Church and also enjoyed word search puzzles, crocheting and IU basketball.
Mrs. Freeman is survived by her husband, Rev. Samuel Freeman; a son, Steve (Debbie) Freeman of Bloomington; four daughters, Wilma (Glenn) Dayhuff, Carolyn (Nick) Lenning, Judy (Mike) Boyd, and Gloria (Kevin) Ooley all of Spencer; 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her father, Sam Davis; mother, Bertha Davis-Sanders; brothers, Gene Davis and Ralph Davis; and sisters, Mary Hancock and Marie Davis.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at the Salem Separate Church on St. Rd. 43 south of Spencer. Rev. Ray Unger and Rev. Jerry Ridge will officiate. Burial will follow at Gross Cemetery. The family will receive friends 4-8 pm, Monday at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
