Eva Belle Bixler, 87, of Vincennes, formerly of Spencer, passed away September 7, 2009 at Crestview Nursing Home in Vincennes. She was born May 8, 1922 to Harley and Dacie (Crouch) Miller in Owen County. She attended school in Spencer and Stinesville. During WWII she worked at Crane before marring Ralph Bixler in 1945. As a young woman she attended the Nazarene Church of Stinesville.
She is survived by daughters; Peggy Summers and Mandy Clay, son, Larry Bixler, four grandchildren; John Doyle, Jimmy Doyle, Tommy Doyle and Lori Petersen, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, infant children, Manson and Fannie Bixler, grandson, Berry Doyle, great-grandson, SSgt. Jeremy Doyle, and sisters; Catherine Baugh, Barbara Kent, and brother, Pvt. Lloyd Miller.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, September 12, 2009 at Chambersville Cemetery in Owen County. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the cemetery. Arrangements are with West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home.
