SPENCER, IN 47460 812-829-2791 812-829-8812 (FAX) Byron “Barney” Drescher, 67, of Freedom passed away Sunday, October 11, 2009 at the Bloomington Hospital. He was born June 8, 1942 in Spencer to Fredrick and Ada (Collier) Drescher. Barney retired in 2003 from Navistar-International Harvester in Indianapolis. He was a member of the Freedom Baptist Church, was on the Freedom Township Fire Department for 20 years and served in the Indiana National Guard. Mr. Drescher is survived by his son Steven (Melissa) Drescher of Noblesville, a grandson, Kyle Drescher of Noblesville, two brothers, Dave Drescher and Jim Drescher both of Spencer. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Rebecca (Knoy) Drescher, a sister and two brothers. A graveside memorial will be held at noon Friday, at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer. West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
