John Renos Price, 89, of Lexington, KY, formerly of Owensboro, KY passed away Monday, October 12, 2009 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, KY. He was born November 24, 1919 in Spencer, IN to John and Viola (Taylor) Price. John was a graduate of Spencer High School in 1938 and Purdue University in 1945. He served in the United States Army during WWII. He worked in quality assurance and retired from Baskin Robins Ice Cream. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, and the DAV in Owensboro, KY. John was a member of Wesleyan Heights United Methodist Church.
John is survived by his wife, Martha Ellen (Maners) Price of Lexington, KY, son Douglas (Kaye) Price of Lexington, KY, daughter Pat (Kevin) Roberts of Powder Springs, GA, and three grandchildren, Ryan (Emily) Roberts of Atlanta, GA, Nolan Roberts of Savannah, GA, and Meghan Roberts of Powder Springs, GA.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Marion and Lewis Price and two sisters, Mildred Drake and Wilma Smith.
Graveside service will be 3:15pm, Friday, October 16, 2009 at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer, IN. Friends may call from 2-3pm at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home. Military rights will be performed by the Spencer VFW and American Legion.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
