Mrs. Burge was one of the sweetest ladies I've ever known. As my history teacher, I actually didn't get to really know her well. In the past couple of months while she was at Rolling Hills I became totally attached to her. When I went to visit my mom I HAD to visit her as well. I am so sorry for your loss and my prayers are with you all. | From: Patti Girtman Hudson 01/09/2012 01:03 PM

To the family,
We were saddened to learn of Mrs. Ernestine's passing. It was such fun when Jerry and I visited with her about family tree info. Her sweet spirit and 'contagious' laughter will surely be missed by all. She is Home now and may God comfort and continue to bless you all.

Ms. Burge was one of my favorite teachers! She had to work extremely hard to teach me how to type! I was fortunate, later, to have the privilege of teaching with her at Southside High School.
Ms. Burge influenced many lives and will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Randy, Carlotte and Kay.
Peace of Christ be with each of you.

Mrs. Burge was such a good teacher. She always tried to instill in all of her students the importance of history in our lives. I remember her saying, "If we don't learn from our mistakes in the past, we are bound to repeat them." From civics and American history tp world history and government, she was the best. She helped encourage all of us to become more responsible citizens. Her love of history was passed on to me and likewise my love of history has been transplanted into the lives of my children. I will never forget her. God bless her family at this time of loss. Sincerely, Gary Mize | From: Gary Mize 01/09/2012 01:03 PM

I owe Mrs. Burge alot. She taught me more in one semester than others did in several years. She was kind and giving. She touched so many of us. I was in SHS class of 81. I can only hope she knew how many of us truly appreciated her. | From: michelle Owens Watkins 01/09/2012 01:03 PM

I will keep your family in my prayers. Mrs. Burge was one of the best teachers I had when I was at Southside School. She always read the bible and prayed every morning in class.
