David Lee Parr, 81, of North Little Rock, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2009. He was born October 4, 1927 in Covington, Tennessee to Fanny David and Aubrey Parr.

He is survived by his wife, Edith G. Parr of 58 years; son, Travis Parr and his wife Peggy, of River Ridge, Louisiana; grandsons, Nathaniel Parr and his wife Joy, of Memphis and Grant Parr, a Senior at Texas Christian University; son, Stephen Parr and his wife Sue; granddaughters: Natalie Browne and her husband Stephen, Oklahoma City and Dr. Valarie Parr, Memphis; grandson, Stephen Davis Parr, Little Rock; sister, Louise Leach who is 97, of Covington, Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Billings and brother, Chalmers Parr.

Mr. Parr graduated from University of Tennessee, BA Agriculture. He was an all star football player and athlete at Covington High School. Mr Parr was an icon in the milk cooperatives industry and served as General Mgr and President of (CAMPA) Central Arkansas Milk Procedures Association and as General Manager of Associated Milk Producers (AMPI) of San Antonio. AMPI cooperatives controlled over 40% of the nations raw milk supply. He later worked as an independent business consultant and investor. He was known for his constant and diverse philanthropic and many religious activities.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts can be made to Park Hill Baptist Church or to your favorite charity.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 20, 2009 at Park Hill Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Park Hill Baptist Church. There will be a private family graveside service.
